Featured Ghia

This is a post from a member of a Ghia group on Facebook. I can relate to this and wanted to share.

Many of you have seen the story of my father’s ‘63 coupe brought back to life by House of Ghia.

Tomorrow my wife and I take the Ghia on a ferry ride over to Port Orchard to show the car to one of my father’s best friends. He knew my Dad when he pushed the car off the showroom floor in 1963.

This is a big deal for me, and an important milestone in the journey to restore the car and do right by my late parents and their memory.

Driving it is a little like spending time with them and, though it doesn’t bring them back, it does actually help.

Something to consider for any of you deciding whether to keep a car as part of your family legacy.

Cheers –

This is My Grandfather

This is my grandfather, with my Aunt Donna.  He was the original owner of this Ghia.  My only wish is to turn this car into something he’d be very impressed with.  I also have a “super secret” addition to the customization that will be done at the very end.  Remind me to tell y’all about that one day.

Happy New Year 2017!

Whelp…  another year down with little to show for it.  My garage has recently changed locations.  I’m been working to get it ready to bring the Ghia over.  That should happen next weekend.  Stay tuned…

New Category: The Rebuilding Journey

I’ve added a new category, the Rebuilding Journey.  By choosing this, you can just read about what I have actually done to the car and skip all the other tech crap, hopes, dreams and ideas.

Enjoy.

Checking In

Nothing new to report. The cold weather is here and work on the car is paused.

There is one small thing going on here I reckon. I’m fiddling around with a new look for the blog. Kinda digging this Twenty Eleven style.

On the other car front, I’ve been looking at Infiniti G37s a lot, specifically the IPL model. Thinking it’s time to sell the Camaro.
