1969 Sheet Metal

In an email to Vintage Auto Buffs asking about 1969 quarters, here was the reply.

Hi Jim:

Yes, I carry everything for Ghias. However, I don’t know if I would recommend changing the rear panels from a 1973 to a 1969 model. These cars are classics now and that me depreciate the car.

Soda Blasting

Jim,

With the chrome removed, we could tape the windows and blast for $800. We would need the car a couple of sunny days.

It’s bare metal but it’s primer ready and treated to prevent the flash rust you see with sand blasting.  The bare metal will have a gray finish and if kept inside will not rust for several days.   The last car we did stayed at our shop for a week before it was picked up with no primer.   You can see the results at the site linked    below.   You could bring it by Monday or Tuesday and we could do it the next day.   We are about a mile from the ATL airport one block inside I-285 off Old National Hwy.

This is the coolest Ghia I’ve seen to date!

Ok, I’m truly inspired.  I was wondering what one could do to a Ghia to make it completely bad assed, without too heavily modifying it.  I came across this.

Granted, there is a lot of work done to this car.  I am especially intrigued by the headlight conversion (Mercedes?), the mirrors and the vents in the rear.

This might be something to look into.  Something I wont need are these huge rear tires.  If I correct, this is the Ghia with the V10 Viper engine in it.
