Maybe September?

I know I’ve said this a hundred times, but it looks like I might be finally getting my Ghia to Georgia.

My buddy just got a truck and another buddy has a trailer.  I’m hoping we can arrange a little geocaching run up north and grab the car while we are up there.

Crossing my fingers…

Hmm…

Yet another year and no Ghia here.  I’m beginning to wonder if it’ll ever be here.

Could this be the year?

Ok…  with major life changes currently in the works, it is looking like 2011 might just be the year I finally get this Ghia down to Georgia.  I’m very excited to start work on this.

I know I keep saying that, but it has to happen at some point.

Wish me luck.

Hello 2011

2011 is here and still nothing is done to the Ghia.  I’m beginning to wonder if I will ever get it down here.

I don’t have any news currently; I just wanted to post up to say I was still here.

Back from my Ohio Visit

I have returned from my trip to Ohio.  Whilst there, I paid a visit to the Ghia.  She’s still there…  rotting away.  Every time I see it though, I get fired up to begin stripping it down.

I did some checks on the body and the right rear quarter is concerning me.  It sounds like there’s a lot of Bondo back there and the deck lid does not line up well at all.  Guess I’ll see what I’m dealing with after media blasting.

I’m still alive!

Well then.  Winter is over and I’d really love to get this Ghia down here and start work.  Problem is…  well, I’m broke and really can’t afford a new project.  I’m still trapped in my apartment and I have no place to store the VW.

To be continued, I guess.

More pictures of the Karmann Ghia

Here are a few more pictures taken back in the Summer of 2006.  I really appears to be in great condition for a restoration project.  We’ll see what media blasting reveals though.  The fact that the driver’s front quarter is missing the Karmann badge concerns me.
